In the context of a roast where the standard joke is along the lines of "Cloris Leachman is here. Her vagina is as dried up as the dirt she sleeps in," you're saying it's not funny to be squeaky clean and corny?
Did you watch the whole thing? Because the more it starts to dawn on everybody what he's doing and that he's not going to break character, the funnier it gets, and it's also funny in the context that throughout the night, he's reading the newspaper and as every other comic takes a dirty or insulting shot at him before they get around to Saget, he has this "Ouch,come on guys" look on his face.
People are calling Saget a pedophile and he's doing this clean shtick.
