1. US Saucer / Tender Places Come from Nothing
2. Souled American / Frozen
3. Wannabe Texans / Alcohol Is a Cheap Perfume

are not liked because I've never met anybody besides me who did (since '94). The list could go on, but I'll spare y'all.

I don't know the Wannabe Texans but I've got the other two and Frozen is one of my all time faves.

I could make a very very long list but I'll say there's one great record that everybody should listen to, it's Scarnella (Carla Bozulich and Nels Cline).

OK, people 'round these forum parts know this record, but where I'm from (Northwest Chicago suburbs, Buffalo Grove specifically) no one, I mean NO ONE HAS EVEN HEARD OF THIS BAND. For that matter, no one seems to like it when they hear it. The indie stores out here don't even stock Killdozer. Fuck that jive.

Sonic Youth - New York City Ghosts and Flowers
Screw all the mark-ass tricks who don't see that this is the sound of vintage Youth, kicking up terrific noises, drones, wierd tinny death-disco, and those great breathy Kim Gordon bits. How is this so much worse than their 90's output?

Yeah, no one I know up here in Seattle knows who Killdozer is, or who Laddio Bollocko is, or that Skin Graft is a record label. Makes me feel really old...

Edsel - "The Everlasting Belt Co."

I think that I have met one other Edsel fan ever and I wound up dating him. "The Good Celeste" off of this album is still one of my favourite songs ever, even if I did blow out a speaker in my old car while listening to that song too loudly.

Margo - "Songs From..."

Sohrab from Edsel's solo project. I saw Margo live at the the Mango Grill in Madison in 1997, when Sohrab played using most of Smart Went Crazy as his backing band. Holy fuck, it was good. This album is 2-discs enclosed in a book with completely amazing artwork, design, and printed lyrics. I adore this album beyond words and no one else I have ever spoken to owns it, so I am condemned to lead a life basking alone in its beauty.
