Oh good, a new word and an illustration of it's definition through use:
When someone gets upset about other people having different / polar opposite opinions about a given topic, and the expression of this dismay usurps the topic at hand, one can be said to be 'pulling a lart'
Or in this case, a minor lart.
Weird that I didn't get the 'e' on the end.
You missed my point- it's not people have opinions, it's people trying to be cool.
'Oh I don't like Battles, they is rubbish, I like axe...oh is it not ultra elite ghetto to like them anymore? yeah, I never liked that gay band, I only like that one King Crimson album that makes you cool if you own it. Oh and This Heat, they add major cool points...? no? Tago Mago?...fuck, I've got nothing'
What I'm saying is, it's impossible not to like Battles, so someone must be lying.
Ah fuck it I'm so unfunny.

Now it's a medium-sized lart.

Did this 'lart' thing happen before or after 'forest of cocks'? Because personally i'm still trying to deal with that.

battles are now NME material :/ , Although i still love them and after seeing them last Wednesday it is utterly affirmed that everyone loves the shit out of them, I have never seen every song applauded at a live concert so massively and with such admiration. They are really fun to see live. I kinda hate the fact that before I know it they will be on mtv (if it's not already, I wouldn't know) and every prick will be battering it into my ears from here to forever like jamie t or something. It's sad but it makes me like them a little less, fuck warp records.
I would not normally like a great album this quickly so I'm sure it will wear thin pretty soon. Their ep is by far the best stuff they have done, that was absolutely made concrete when I saw it performed live. The drumming, the rock out, the eclectic melodies are by far superior to mirrored minus a couple of cool more instrument orientated tracks I really like that are a little less electronica in vibe.
Snare hanger, Tij and race out I like most, some if it sounds absurdly like new don cab shoved in a battles blender.
Nothing On Tras2 though

Yeah, the album is not as good as their previous material but it is pretty damn fine. I couldn't really care less if a band I like is NME/MTVing or whatever, if the music is good who cares.

yeah, it's a sad trait, I don't know what makes me feel that way, I guess I couldn't really care I personally just wish they were not on warp, I obviously love them at the moment, just don't think this albums going to last on my play list too long, where as the EP is always interesting to go back to and listen. Anyone read the NME review of mirrored, It was possibly the most retarded thing I have ever read, that magazine is so dumb.

No, what did it say?
The way I feel about Battles is that they're a talented bunch who make fun and interesting music that doesn't generally repeat itself too much but always sounds like the same band. They're by no means my favourite or one of my favourite bands but I will come back and listen to them every so often and they do have a few complete classics. SZ2 is one of the best tracks I've heard in years.

I saw Battles two summers ago with 11 dudes besides myself in the audience. I have a feeling their show here in July will be better attended.
