How does this happen? I know that someone with connections likes them and took them under their wing (for what reason still confuses me). The fact that this band is getting the shows that they do while so many better bands struggle is a prime example of shame that corrupts every music scene.
Salute. My sediments exactly. However, I'm not sure if they are well connected or if they just happen to play that jangly "throw the kitchen sink in" indie garbage that a lot of chicks really like. I see they are opening for Man Man for the Wicker Park fest. Man Man does that same shit and are fairly successful with that crowd.
Other than that I agree. I saw the shows they have. My brand new band has been struggling even just to get responses back from these same promotors and we are writting, in my humble opinion, much better material. Like most everything else, it's all bullshitting and contacts. Which is why so many bad bands can rise to the top.
