At the risk of cutting out an icon such as Superdawg, I'd think it'd be more manageable and less trolley-dependant to winnow down the crawl into a more compact encased-meat-eating zone.
Mark this one off as "Central Chicago" and leave something out there to look forward to with "North/South/West Chicago" crawls.
Chicago Hot Dog Crawl?
102did you see the map, above? looks great to me.

Chicago Hot Dog Crawl?
103Yes...the map, the planning, the calling of trolleys...turnbullac's effort in this endeavor must be applauded. Either way, I can see myself attending this. Just thought I'd offer an alternative.
Chicago Hot Dog Crawl?
104This is an event worth driving/flying up for if I haven't found a job that takes me someplace far away. A tour of Chicago hot dogs with EA forum members? Sounds excellent.
As for a shirt, why full colour? Why not just a simple classic black ink on colour shirt design?
Jay Ryan's design on the front, and something like:
"I participated in the first annual EA hotdog-athon and all I got was this stupid t-shirt and an upset stomach"
Anyway, this is an excellent idea. I like the idea of it being a walking tour as well, though people seem to be discussing a bus? It would allow stomachs to settle between stops. Give people more time to just chat, etc.

Right, which makes it a full day, and seriously gives people a bit of time to digest. If you go zipping from place to place, everyone's just going to end up sick.
Your average store bought small plain hot dog contains about 400mg of sodium, approximately 20% of what you should take in on an average day. My guess is that the fancy gourmet hot dogs with all the trimmings at these places are pushing close to 600-800mg of sodium, maybe more. So, really if anyone has high blood pressure, try not to do a dog at every stop.
However, walking will help give everyones digestive tracks a little bit of a chance to adjust, and if it's a hot August day, might sweat out a bit of salt.
I really don't think anyone will be able to eat a hot dog at every stop. In fact, if I come up, I think I'll find a person or two who would be willing to split dogs, so that we can enjoy the culinary mastery of each location, without getting overstuffed.
Anyway, those are just my thoughts.
If this is going to happen in August, I am seriously going to try and be there. I'm thinking I'll take a photographic road trip up to Chi town, do the hot dog walk, see a museum or two the next day or a show, and then drive back down.

109This is off the top of my head, but if everyone kept 25 minute/mile pace, which would be a rather brisk walk, it would take at least 18.5 hours to do this. That's not including time to eat, order and commiserate together.
I've seen the bridges burning in the night.
