Marlen Khutsiev, venerable Soviet/Georgian filmmaker who came to prominence in the Thaw era.I got to see a retrospective that he attended back in 2015. He had great range and seemed like a sweet guy to boot. What a life, what a slice of Soviet/Russian history, 93 years old. RIP.
