I made my own setup with an arturia keystep and a JU-06a that I have a blast with all the time - but having a full sized "Show practical" version is exciting, especially with the expansion options, along with an 'acoustic' piano sound... . I hope the keys feel good

Not so much "gear", and these are just initial clinical trials, but potential for reversing hearing loss seems relevant here:

"The biotechnology company Frequency Therapeutics is seeking to reverse hearing loss — not with hearing aids or implants, but with a new kind of regenerative therapy. The company uses small molecules to program progenitor cells, a descendant of stem cells in the inner ear, to create the tiny hair cells that allow us to h

I think this is a pretty good idea if that kind of fuzz is your shit. I almost impulse-bought one and then realized I am not a fuzz guy. Ask me how many fuzz pedals I've gone through before figuring that out.

Man, this would have been great 18 years ago (holy shit) when my Juno 60 was stolen from the van on tour.

edit: to be fair, though, the price of this new one is probably more than what vintage ones cost at the time.

Yeah not digging the price - I'm having a hard time finding a conjecture-less account of the original price, looks like maybe somewhere around $1200, with inflation making this JunoX significantly "less", but given the extra costs of modern life, $2k seems a bit much - no doubt priced this way given the prices of vintage 60s and 106s.
I think what's hard to swallow is the 'soft-synth' aspect, but if the end-performance result is there, I can swallow it.

I'm into the new upgrades to the Strymon line, but not into the $80 price hike. $299 was already steep for me. $379 is out of the question.

So Electro-Harmonix is putting out a J. Mascis signature Muff, but no information on whether it's actually different from the current Ram's Head circuit they're selling. I'd guess it's pretty much the same, eh?

They don't say, but the reg Ram's Head is based on a 1973. Mascis is known to favor a specific 1976. Stomped Under Foot does a clone traced from his (Amherst). They've already done a few on these so I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt on this being slightly different than the other version. We'll know when someone takes a screen shot of the PCB.

EDIT: actually, some of the copy for this release says 73. I know Reverb and Chicago Music Exchange are separate now, but given the history of CME getting exclusive colorways from pedal companies, I'm thinking it's just a paint job...

I've been debating getting the ram's head one anyway and ditching my russian and op amp reissues...

I ordered one. I’ve been kinda chasing a good big muff for a while, and I need to send my fucked up one to Dr. Balls to see if he can salvage it with a cleaning and a once over and whatever smart people like him can do. I suppose I should ask him for real rather than just telling myself to do it each day when I pass by it with my other pedals I’m not using.

When I hear other people play them, I usually love them. When I get my hands on them, I can’t get remotely close to what I’m thinking I should hear - I’ve bought and re-sold a few over the years, but then I don’t know about all the different versions and iterations. The one I’ve got technically belongs to a good old friend of mine, which is why I have kept it despite not liking the way it sounds. It’d kinda be cool to get it in good working order again and get it back to him as a surprise, but he can’t really play much anymore (MS is a motherfucker). Hopefully I’ll see him for the NY Unwound shows if we can coordinate.

Anyway, for $130 and free shipping, I figured it was worth a shot. Will report back.

Fulltone closing it's doors & of course manages to find a way to blame Biden.

Fuck you Mike Fuller & fuck your pedals. You've always been an absolute prick & I hope you get stepped on by a horse on your ranch.
