Will definitely say that what Jury already has built here is a pretty great guitar. Weight wise, it's definitely lighter than either my all metal EGC guitars; even w/ the modded import Tele body, there were no neck dive issues or anything. Neck profile is a little thicker at this point than the Denison EGC neck, certainly thicker than the standard thin profile neck.

Can't wait to check out the changes/updates Chris is making to this guitar and what he's got next in the pipeline!!!

In case you don't see this from the Bandcamp page, here's what I did:

It's going through a silverface Champ, treble and bass both at 5, mic'd a Beyer M201. I went bridge then neck pickup with volume first set at 3, then 5, then 7, then dimed. Mic'd w/ a Beyer M201 into a Scarlett 2 interface into Reaper, no additional eq/compression/etc. Didn't change the gain on the interface at all while increasing the volume on the amp.

Spent the last couple days reworking things: weight reduction, reshaping the neck a bit. Refined the heel (still clunky, but better). I got some chrome PU rings and some thin aluminum to make the cover less ugly.

Today I got started on guitar #2. working with a 5/8" billet and will be doing some laminating that should be interesting and maybe reduce weight. Pics this weekend when I have something to show. been spending a lot of time building shop fixtures to make things faster and more repeatable.

OK- was going to hold off on updates til this weekend- but just did a few of my first operations and am feeling very good- I machined (rather than cut/file) the slot in the headstock- about 100x better.

also got both sides of the headstock cut, as well as one side of the neck. Also glued up the body blank.

Next steps will be the pickup routes and shaping the body.

Any changes to the build? Similar to first one & just refining the process before you hang out a shingle? Or experimenting w/ something completely different?
