Doesn’t look like it’s on Bandcamp yet, but it’s on the streaming sites.
Second album from woods this year. Every bit as good as Aethiopes. Dude blows my mind.

103Cheers
missed this. Ambarchi seems to be moving his style into something even more incredible.

104Am currently enjoying this one:

Despite the band name they don't really sound like the Velvet Underground at all. I can hear influences from Neu! and some of the more keyboard-oriented krautrock artists like Wolfgang Reichmann, and also some early 80s Brit post-punk like the Cure and New Order. Saw them live earlier this year though and onstage they rock surprisingly hard.

107The album as a whole doesn't measure up but man this is the hit of the year.

108By the way, this album is co-produced by Danny L Harle, who has worked on a bunch of Caroline Polachek songs, and is also involved with the "PC Music" label.enframed wrote: Sun May 22, 2022 11:01 pmYeah you're right. The rest doesn't really hold up too well after a couple of listens. Three maybe four good tracks. The above is by far the best one.kokorodoko wrote: Sun May 22, 2022 3:52 amIt doesn't fully hold up throughout, but Too Dead Inside fucking rocks.
That stuff as well his own is a mixed bag for sure - shining productions that are often dragged down by mediocre songwriting. But there's some delightful YOLO cheese to be found. The kind that is simultaneously melancholic and uplifting.

109Found this browsing Swedish bandcamp.
Hasn't been released yet, so maybe that's why not all tracks are up, but what's there sounds reeeeally good. Krautish chill stuff.

110Roland Kayn's Infra is likely phenomenal, but I can't afford it right now. Basically anything released on his Bandcamp by his estate this year certainly qualifies too:

Oh, and I wish I had the cash for this, maybe I'll get the DL at some point:
