I thought you did it on purpose and it was brilliant! "Bong, bong, bong" goes the big open drum sound.

I don't like hearing slap delay on the drums. Hearing that second, delayed transient on everything, especially the snare is irritating and not worth the roomy sound that it achieves.

100%. They're fine, but I wouldn't pick one on purpose.

I always thought little of Les Pauls and here I am in my 40s with one and I absolutely love it. It's the perfect example of Perception vs Reality.

I still don't like Strats, though. I suppose if I were a shredder or a more talented guitar player, I probably wouldn't feel this way and maybe I'd learn to love single coils.

I love the Tele Deluxe for this reason. The only real difference I think ends up being the playability, if you like Gibson scale. The woods may be different, but I think it's moot when you consider that you're going to eventually EQ your signal.
