The green is ok. It's the res head & logo that's hideous.
That's my confession: I'm vain enough to pay the $60 for a faux skin head.
Re: Gear Confessions Thread
102I thought you did it on purpose and it was brilliant! "Bong, bong, bong" goes the big open drum sound.twelvepoint wrote: Wed Sep 18, 2024 1:46 pm Also I realize I misspelled “Bonham” but I’m going to let it stand.
I don't like hearing slap delay on the drums. Hearing that second, delayed transient on everything, especially the snare is irritating and not worth the roomy sound that it achieves.

103100%. They're fine, but I wouldn't pick one on purpose.Dr Tony Balls wrote: Tue Sep 17, 2024 8:21 am MY TURN: I dont care about GK400/GK800 bass amps. They're fine.....i'm not mad at em....but people seem to favor them and I dont get it. Id just as happily play out of a solid state Ampeg, SWR, whatever.
My turn: Gibson guitars stink and in most hands sound like ass.

Re: Gear Confessions Thread
105I always thought little of Les Pauls and here I am in my 40s with one and I absolutely love it. It's the perfect example of Perception vs Reality.
I still don't like Strats, though. I suppose if I were a shredder or a more talented guitar player, I probably wouldn't feel this way and maybe I'd learn to love single coils.

Kinda agree but I have a soft spot for firebirds and 335s.
Re: Gear Confessions Thread
107I agree with that and I have so many dumb les paul shaped guitars. I blame Mick Ronson
Re: Gear Confessions Thread
108That one is kind of insane, Gibsons can sound great. I especially like that swirly Stones sound from the Mick Taylor era and before.
Re: Gear Confessions Thread
109Right I should have clarified that I dont think they sound bad, I just dont like them much. Like I think a telecaster with two humbuckers, a mahogany body and a maple cap would be infinitely better than a Las Paul.
Re: Gear Confessions Thread
110I love the Tele Deluxe for this reason. The only real difference I think ends up being the playability, if you like Gibson scale. The woods may be different, but I think it's moot when you consider that you're going to eventually EQ your signal.Dr Tony Balls wrote: Wed Sep 25, 2024 12:50 pm Right I should have clarified that I dont think they sound bad, I just dont like them much.
