Did a deep dive on amp sim pedals. Everyone's selling either every amp in existence in a box, or for a fraction of the price, a pedal that does a fender, a Marshall and a Vox. Its all either overwhelming or boring. So, I picked up a Two Notes Opus that has some of these as presets, but the whole point of this DSP pedal is to create your own amp. It'll do anything: guitar, case bass, keys... It'll even soup up your acoustic guitar with the DynIRs. It seems amazing. I already have a Two Notes CabM and Wall of Sound and love them, so looking forward to recreating my favorite amps that don't fit in the box of the general amp sim DSP pedal.

That does look cool. I don't give a shit about classic amp simulation, but essentially a fancy sansAmp where you can contour the room sound, cab style, and mic EQ curve is very appealing. Maybe I'll get one eventually to better integrate direct synth layers into mixes.

This is exactly why I got it. No stomp, nothing, just make an amp and add a cab. The other cool thing about the IR loader is that you can add your own IRs on it. Not every IR box does that. But I actually like the DynIR cabs. I bought two recently that are pretty close to my actual guitar and bass cabs. Looking forward to trying it out. I just love the simplicity of it and that if you wanted, you can just set it and forgot it. Its very versatile. You can turn the IRs off, you can turn the preamp off, you can add a power amp. The CabM essentially does almost all of this, but the preamp is really simple and limited. Seemed more like "in a pinch". The Opus is the next level.

I'll follow up with this on the micro reviews thread. I also got some UAFX pedals just to see what they're like compared. I'll probably sell them immediately, though.

Fell into a Yamaha T100 combo, and I need another amp like a hole in the head but I don’t have anything high gain, a friend has one and it rules - I don’t care if the internet says it’s a soldano SLO100 or not. Comes with a G12k-100 which I think is an underrated speaker, maybe no one has ever played one broken in or it doesn’t fit ‘da blues’

I've been interested in checking one of these amps out too but Yamaha stuff is pretty uncommon around this area for amps/guitars so never have seen nor heard one in person.

I can second the G12K-100 speaker though. I have a pair in an X in my marshall cabinet and really like them. I think they're a good fit w/ the Vintage 30s that are in the same cab.

Just picked up this Leslie 722 for free from an estate cleanout. They had a couple of 80s Hammonds in the basement also, one of them had a built-in Leslie. Alas, they didn't have the 11 pin cable. I also grabbed a couple of mic stands that they were going to toss.

I'll modify it like I did my old 825 and add 1/4" jacks for the inputs and speed control so I can use it with a standard 2-button footswitch. Might also add an internal amp bypass so I can drive it with a low-wattage tube amp.

I had a SUPER weak moment and despite the fact that I have sworn off accumulating any new debt, I dropped money I shouldn't have on the 2 following items that were used.

Epiphone SG Traditional - $350. Been wanting a les paul for a long time just becuz they look like rock and roll, but every time I pick one up, I don't like the way it feels or plays. I thought maybe I'm just used to my other guitars, but this epi SG came up local for 350 used in perfect condition (stock image below.) I love it, it's light, it plays nice as shit, and I'm terrified of looking at the headstock sideways for fear it might just snap.

That's cheap enough that I can fuck around with some different humbuckers in there and see what I can do. There is a coil split function, which was a surprise to me, but they sound kinda lame, so I just don't bother. Would love to add a correct tremolo arm to it as well *swoon.*

Life pedal v3. $200. Don't really love being so on the nose about it since I'm an unabashed sunn fan, but goddamn this thing just sounds good. It's quiet, the boost is like an OD and the distortion is several flavors of rat, as I'm sure y'all know. Octave is super broad and harmonic. 3 pedals in one, and I really only need it and a delay for one side of the 2 amp set up.

Let me know when you want to sell it ;)
I had one years ago and have been kind of half-assedly looking for a deal on one since Yamaha bought Line 6.
