I bought yet another Tube Screamer. Arguably my favorite OD pedal, I couldn't resist getting the JHS Series 3 version. I guess you can say Found it dirt cheap on Reverb and I couldn't say no to an already inexpensive pedal. I already have a mini Ibanez Mini tube screamer, my first one. My absolute favorite has been the Walrus Voyager, it has something in the midrange that just gets to me. It's the lynchpin of my pedalboard. Anyway, I thought some of the mods on the Series 3 were interesting and I'd love to put it on a bass.
If you continue down your exploration of modded Tube Screamers, the best one I’ve tried on bass to date is the JHS Moonshine V2. Retains a nice low end because of the clean blend.
You might also check out the new Keeley Noble Screamer that integrates the TS and Nobels ODR into a single pedal where you can swap the tone controls and/or the clipping of each. (I think the ODR1 is a better bass pedal).
Neither of these are cheap, but more akin to the Voyager in price.
