RIP
I met him briefly after a show he played on the South Bank. Lovely, humble feller with no rockstar airs and graces whatsoever. Always liked the way he played with pickup bands assembled from whoever happened to be aroun him at any given time. He played a great - seemingly improvised - set at ATP with Kid Millions from Oneida on drums and the bassist from Thurston Moore's band.

I hate music, it's got too many notes.

Damo Suzuki R.I.P. One of a kind. Got to hang out with him for a bit years ago and he struck me as one of the more "present-oriented" people a person could have encountered. It's no exaggeration to say that he appeared all but wholly unpreoccupied with his tenure in Can, his recorded legacy, stature, influence, ego--all of it. Instead, he was just smack in the middle of the now, moving forward, responsive, not hung up on shit, assembling various talented locals in each city and summoning their better musical instincts to create jams on the spot. Considering that tracks like "Spoon," "Moonshake," "One More Night," etc. are probably "objectively better" than anything you or I have made, and he just sorta brushed them off as things done ages ago . . . I can't help but view this as humorous. And enlightening somehow.
ZzzZzzZzzz . . .

New Novel.
