I watched two adult red-tailed hawks fight over a dead squirrel today. I was about thirty feet away.

I got it all on film. Now I just need to get it off of my camera.

Still recovering from putting on a show last night. Don't do many of these, but when good friends come through with good bands sometimes it's worth it. Awesome fun. I'm still a big fan of the all-ages community hall shows. It's like a house show, but with a stage. And a working PA. This one was great for two reasons; the huge fucking tour bus parked next to the hall, and the wonderful silkscreened posters that Stackmatic did for the show. Packed up the gear after and went out for a 3am bocce ball game.

Long days, but hey, it's the first full week of summer. Fuck it.

my phone rang today, with the news that I finally got the job I've been angling for for 12 months!!!! Of course I will have to turn Abbey Road down now, but your ol pal Speedie just doubled his income!!! fuck it. YAY ME!!!

Just had a job interview for a new part-time gig. Everything went okay-ish I thought, was able to blurt out my date of birth in four languages (I had been kind of bluffing on the Spanish), etc.

When the lady escorted me out the door, down a couple of steps, she remarked how she hated taking the stairs, to which I, sheepishly, replied: "Have been keeping a low profile on the work out?"

I am a doof, I know this thing.
