Dude, not only was that before they had their first EP out, that was before they had a band. I'd imagine it was cringeworthy - it was probably Tunde singing, and Sitek frantically beatboxing because their sampler broke, right?

I saw them at the Fireside Bowl in March or April 2004, just after the first LP came out, so at that point the band was five strong, including a damn fine drummer and lots of guitars everywhere and harmony vocals and deranged punk rock gospel rave-ups. Oh, they brought it.

Killjoy, the album that track is off is brilliant, the recording is really nice as well, live, direct to tape.

Their first two records and the latest one are much better than a lot of Helmet's output and I'm a big Helmet fan.
