The more I listen to it, the more NOT CRAP it becomes.

Employing such a machine, quite unfashionably, in 1990:
How many people were in your band?

I have to admit, so far the record is way better than the live show of theirs I saw last year. There are a few weak tracks on the second half, but it's growing on me.

Seriously.
I pretty much agree, although the music itself is not bad, just a rehash, but the vocals and lyrics kill it for me. It's like a caricature of metal by Slint.

I don't normally get worked up over shit like this but WTF Pitchfork why did you have a deaf guy review this record.

I think it's pretty rich that Pitchfork deems Early Man worthy of a sneer for being hipster. They got pretty much every paragraph of this review backwards, I think.

rant:
wasn't Brian McMahan in Slint?
I'm kind of ashamed of this decade, it's like one big cool party, now that everyone can be cool with ipods, and indie music. people that aren't cool enough, have to find different ways to be even cooler, and that's shooting down anyone that remotely tries something with a hint of danger.
steve said it best, it's like the world is a perfume commercial. I'm tired of bad music, being over exaggerated for it's fun, clean, dance qualities. you don't see these writers giving vampire weekend a 4.4, and calling it a Hair Cut 100, or Clash rehash, do you?
as much as I think dead child isn't that great, it's not bad, and it's certaintly more deserving than a 4.4, because face it, most metal fucking sucks, but they're to busy smelling their own i-farts, to realize it.
what a bunch of pussies over there.

FYP (but I mostly agree).
