I am not familiar with FSA but I can definitely hear some big black in the guitar sound. I enthusiastically second this recommendation.

Time to check out Hvys Lyset Tar Oss (sp?), their previous record. IMO it goes even further out, despite having been done first.

I gotta back you up there. I fucking love dystopia and their crushing, groovy, fucked up, schizophrenic grind.

Today is The Day is my favorite band of all time. Hands down.

Gigantic Brain is an awesome one-mind grind project from Virginia. Very electronic and sci-fi oriented. I love it. http://www.myspace.com/robotgorgon

I guess I'll help Greg and Josh out with a plug for Plague Bringer. From Chicago. Good stuff. Simplistic drum machine grind that alternates between almost ambient passages and driving, crunchy sickness.

I'll second the recommendation on Phantom Limb. Who hates Pig Destroyer?

Also, check out Knut's last record titled "Terraformer" - It kind of reminds me of Keelhaul, but a with little more doom. Here's some other records to listen to (if these have been listed before, please forgive me).

Meshuggah - Catch 33

Xasthur - any record

Baroness - Red Album

Electric Wizard - Dopethrone

Necrophaigist - Epitath

Kayo Dot - Choirs of the eye (quasi metal, but excellent)
