A good sweet potato pie is a wonderful thing. It is similar to pumpkin pie but its sweetness is more natural and it has a subtler flavor IMHO.

I quite like grits. FYI, grits are just ground corn, boiled in water on a stovetop until thick, and then served with a slice of cheese melted on top or just a little butter and salt. They're a classic American breakfast side dish for good reason. If you hate grits without ever having tried them, then you don't know what's good for you.

I believe hash browns and home fries are also foods of southern American origin (correct?) and I hope everybody here has the common sense and decency to acknowledge how great those are.
