Shit, I'll take it off your hands.
Yeah, in retrospect, I'm being harsh. It had 25% goodness to it.

I'd like to know the percentage of 30-something indie rock fans who were teenage shred fans in the 80's. I played the shit out of Flex-Able when I was 14, and I also had the first two David Lee Roth albums--not because I was such a big DLR fan but because Vai and Billy Sheehan were on them.
I too listened to lots of Primus and Rollins Band in the early 90's, and while I don't disavow them, I haven't listened to them much in years. Frizzle Fry and Seas of Cheese are still enjoyable to me, but Pork Soda makes me cringe.
Grippe is better than Novelty, in my opinion.
Man, this thread could go for weeks. It's a good thing I didn't have much disposable money when I was young, or I'd be answering for piles upon piles of lousy music.

I just noticed a recurring theme here...
U2, In Tua Nua, Hothouse Flowers, Enya, Sultans of Ping FC....
Are all shameful bands Irish?
Probably only a matter of time before someone mentions The Cranberries.

And out comes the hammer:
That album sucks so bad. And I knew that when I
liked grunge.

Yeah, PEZBAND.
And hey, guess what, this is my 100th post. Should I prepare a cake?
I've bought hundreds of records worse than
Pezband. It's a terrible name, but bad power pop is still better than a lot of stuff.
And local Power-Pop as well. In the late '70s, lotsa "punks" were into 20/20, Shoes, etc. I think a lot of it still holds up, in it's own curious way.
Reading "Pezband" gave me a flashback to reading the Illinois Entertainer and Prairie Sun.

Are all Irish bands shameful? Only the internationally known multi-million sellers, it seems.
Let's not mention The Stunning, Aslan, An Emotional Fish ("Celebrate"?), that band that did that "Mary" song*, and the rest of their ilk.
*Ha! I remember: The 4 of us. Fuckers.
Sorry for derailing,
Jest away.

Stiff Little Fingers was pretty cool when I saw 'em at The Rainbow in 1980.

I submit: The Fat Lady Sings.
I don't think all Irish bands are shameful (weren't Stiff Little Fingers from there? Thin Lizzy? Both Not Crap) but they are not ashamed of releasing crap records.
A record I should be ashamed of, but am not:
It's got the Smurf drinking song on it.

Hey, I'm not afraid of a little James Taylor. For his current tour, he rigged up some drum set with mechanical playing arms for his "drum machine." Animatronic, and like an organ grinder. That's both awesome and stupid.
