The Sopranos Final Episodes...

To me, Chris is the the most complex and compelling character in the show. He has always been loyal and ambitious, but also temperamental and hot-headed, not to mention his recurring drug problems. He's always felt entitled yet stepped on and disrespected, going back to Season One when he was so eager to become a "made man." He's fallen out of favor with Tony as far as taking over (Bobby seems to have filled that role), even after sacrificing Adrianna for him (which still haunts him), his friends don't respect his attempts at sobriety (the shot of Tony's laughing face before Chris stormed out of the party was truly painful), now the crew is even going around him and screwing with his family over the power tools.

Chris wants out of his old life, free to turn over a new leaf as a family man. I think he was trying to express this to JT, and was met with the stark reality that he's "in the mafia," to which the old, impulsively violent character reacted. Problem for Chris is there's no way "out of the mafia" and I see a tragic climax around the corner for him. If anyone's likely to take out Tony (aside from the Brooklyn crew), it's Chris in one of these emotionally impulsive outbreaks (rather than through the feds...not his character). Maybe even a murder-suicide (he and Tony talked about suicide once in Chris's car...Chris said something about not being intellectually feeble or something).

Agreed that AJ is too feeble and soft for the mob. If he gets into it, he won't last long (dead or arrested). Also, Tony's gambling didn't go away. There's was a point where Parisi gave Tony an envelope and he replied "gotta love the NFL" or something. So apparently his losing streak is temporarily over.

Curious about Meadow's "mystery date" (maybe someone in the mob?).

Damn all of you with cable, damn you all to hell!

I actually enjoyed part one of Season 6 quite a bit. It was quite a surprise. Those episodes w/ Tony in his coma were really haunting and great.

I'm not reading any of the spoilers obviously, but I think there's a very slim chance that AJ will take over the biz. Remember that Tony told him that he doesn't have what it takes, that he's a nice kid and that's a good thing. You never know w/ the Sopranos...

Another excellent take. I like what I'm hearing.
