If you look closely, you'll notice that there is a strip of wood nailed down in front of the bass drum there to keep the drums from wandering off.

Also: I stick the hooks from a "super" velcro patch on the bottom of my kick drum plate. It sticks to drum carpets. Problem solved, for the most part.

I play very, very hard.
