I demand a Faiz Zeppelin update! What songs are you working on? Have some worked that you thought wouldn't and have some failed when you thought they would be a cake walk? What's going on over in that practice space of yours??
haha! I've actually been doing quite a bit of work, brother. thanks for the inquiry.
here's one from another thread:

this week, my excellent friend, run joe, run and his lovely lady were in town from Liverpool, so we went out to piece on Saturday for some excellent 'za (na duh! (salut_8033)) with Ace and some singing.
we all killed. I owned "Whole Lotta Love" for the nth time.
afterwards, Bill, the guy who manages Piece caught Ace and I outdoors and let us know that they were going to be filming an episode of Check Please (great great food review show) this wednesday and that they'd be doing a special karaoke night for the taping, and that we should be sure to come.
so we went last night. and we brought it. Ace's "I want you to want me" and r,jr's "Surrender" were sublime. really great.
they had put me on first, and we brought "Emmigrant Song". cut my feet up again (I sing Zep barefoot. Always), but no biggie.
they didn't film everyone, but they got all of Ace's song, mine, and the lady that just crushed "White Rabbit" (holy hell). kinda weird being filmed for T.V., but that is why we went. all up in my video and such.
afterwards, the hosts of check please caught us outside and kinda fluffed and flattered my pipes and performance. kind folks, they are. "Phenomenal," he said. I told him about the upcoming Faiz Zep shows (including Mk II for Nov., which is under wraps right now), and they wanted to come.
they also invited me to pick a restaurant to review and come be on their show. haha!
I've now got a card and a contact for a second [?] appearance on Check Please.

moved out of the studio space, since the people that ran it were being douche bags. I still get to use it, but I've just been working at the home studio (the Rumpus Room) instead. much more friendly.
however, I learned, rewrote and rearranged several songs the past few weeks. I've been recording to cassette, so it'll take me a bit to get them up here, but I hope to have that taken care of before the weekend is through.
"Going to California" and "Since I've Been Loving You" are quite different from the originals, but still very similar. just me and an acoustic right now, but they're pretty solid. these are the ones that are coming. these arrangements are slated for February's "Acoustic/Electric Resonance" show, but they may come out sooner.
I also learned "Over the Hills and Far Away," but that one is really tricky to play and sing at the same time, so it'll take a bit before it's done.
I also taught myself "No Quarter" on my piano synth. that riff they break into sounds great when running the piano through the big muff and the fuzz factory. this one is for November's "Düül Triiio" show (Nov 16th). I don't want to give too much away about it, since how I'd like it to go down and how it may actually go down could be two different things. I have been rehearsing with my bandmate, Willis P. Jenkins for this show, so it should be pretty fucking cool. he's brilliant.
Anyone play trumpet? I'd like to do a trumpet only version of "Rain Song".
anyway, more soon, of course.
best,
Faiz
