So, this "The Terrifier..." business...

Am I just missing the boat on this whole thing? Saw the first one, and honestly felt like someone was playing an involved joke on the audience.

I thought it was really bad.

btw, my recent views:

Dagon - loved it, totally underrated, and very tight. Really great.

Castle Freak - decent enough, but having just seen Dagon I was underwhelmed. Too thin a premise for a whole film

Faust - pretty bad but bordering on so bad it's good territory. No scenery was left unchewed, and embarassing use of late 90's Roadrunner nu metal. Puts Yuzna and Gordon's talents in stark contrast.

Les Raisins de la Mort - I don't think I got this. Slow as fuck. Points for weirdness.

Watched a found footage horror-comedy titled Deadstream and loved it. Took a bit of time to get to loving it because I'm stuffy, but by the last 20 minutes or so I had to pause it a couple of times because I was laughing so hard and didn't want to miss any little bits of dialogue or set pieces - I laughed that hard. Tonally it has an over-the-top Evil Dead vibe while topically dealing with the phenomenon of influencers. A cancelled, self-described "piece of trash" plans a comeback by live-streaming one night in a haunted house.

Planning on a double feature today with Terrifier 2 and the new Hellraiser. The latter could definitely use a fresh take and I'm here for it.

Someone probably mentioned this elsewhere on the PRF, but I really liked The Innocents (2021) Dir by Eskil Vogt.

It's on AMC+ / Shudder and I think you can find a torrent of it pretty quick.

There's this aussie found footage flick called "The Tunnel". From 20..10?

VERY GOOD. Not super original, but to the point and creepy. Think it used to be available to watch online for free. (Edit: it's actually on youtube)

Maybe the closest thing to the pinnacle of the genre which is "Rec" IMHO.

Dunno why I enjoy that found footage shit.

FM rsmurphy's thread on Mad God prompted deeply buried memories of The Secret Adventures of Tom Thumb, a 1993 British stop-motion animated horror? film which has somewhat haunted me since I saw it on BBC2 shortly after it was released, aged 14 or so. There's a slightly grotty rip of this on YouTube for viewing if you can't find a better source.

Weird factoid… May’s last name is Canady. Same as mine. Maybe the writer was an early Deathpile fan? Strange to think of.

Good movie too!
