Seems weird to talk about his dedication to employees and decide to just fold the business rather than have some kind of succession plan to have someone else take over.

Yeah it's kind of an ugly, little-spoken truth how there are many of these boutique builders that share the same mindset as many small business owners flying Let's Go Brandon flags. High ratios of libertarian leanings just because they're selfish bellends who feel like they deserve a mega-yacht but mean ol Mr Biden makes them pay taxes for roads and schools.

I knew Fulltone was shit when I opened one up to replace a switch and saw a jesus fish sharpied inside the case.

Fulltone dude has a history of Choad-tastic behavior. For me, it started with the Jack Orman Mini-Booster, which was released as the original Fat Boost. The Mini Booster was built with a number of odd value spare parts that happened to be in Jack's parts bins. No one would choose them if designing the circuit from scratch. THe schematic was put up as a "look at this cool circut" thing. Then the Fat Boost came out and all of the copy was "new, unique circuit specially developed by tone guru Fuller." Yet all the parts values were the exact, bonkers, spare parts bin values.

Now, I LOVE the idea of builders leaning on classic circuits, making a few changes, and having a unique variation of a classic. I also love when builders take classic circuits and build them into more robust form factors. Fulltone was quite good at that. If they had just come out and said "hey, we took your favorite tubescreamer, added a few more tones, and removed that annoying flip flop momentary switch, that would have been fantastic. Instead, every marketing point was hero worship of the tastemaker.

Also, Mike fuller used to feature his Porsche 911 (I think with vanity plates) on his pedal website. Booo.

That was the douchiest most narcissistic 'closing shop' copy I've ever read. Not one sentence wasted to self-aggrandize. Fuck off Fuller. Eat shit

The right wing californian is a special breed of shithead. they complain %75 of the time and %25 of the time brag about their boats or trucks. And they wont' shut up. For all of their fucking 'live and let live' freedom bullshit, they constantly force their view on you in the grocery store, workplace etc. they fucking suck and unfortunately if you want to live rural here you're stuck with them.

FYI, Wren and Cuff says it's just the regular EHX Ram's Head reissue w/ Mascis graphics/signature:

tallchris wrote: Tue Aug 16, 2022 3:04 pm So Electro-Harmonix is putting out a J. Mascis signature Muff, but no information on whether it's actually different from the current Ram's Head circuit they're selling. I'd guess it's pretty much the same, eh?

They don't say, but the reg Ram's Head is based on a 1973. Mascis is known to favor a specific 1976. Stomped Under Foot does a clone traced from his (Amherst). They've already done a few on these so I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt on this being slightly different than the other version. We'll know when someone takes a screen shot of the PCB.

EDIT: actually, some of the copy for this release says 73. I know Reverb and Chicago Music Exchange are separate now, but given the history of CME getting exclusive colorways from pedal companies, I'm thinking it's just a paint job...

I've been debating getting the ram's head one anyway and ditching my russian and op amp reissues...
