I'm sure he will enjoy a long and relaxing retirement, happily eating and drinking without a care in the world.

Yeah, he's fucked.

In other news, I saw Emperor Friday night.

While I felt Ihsahn could have been more kvlt regarding audience interaction, I couldn't help but think how his polite and grateful demeanor would have been appreciated by my Norwegian grandmothers.

Enjoy your lutefisk, and please have more casserole.

You were not “hacked.” You clicked the “OMG, I can’t believe who just died in an accident” link.

This year has profoundly ground me down. What a fucking drag it's been.

It's weird to me when customer service people ask what you're doing today. It makes me think asking when they get off would be a natural follow up, which would be super awkward. Surely this invasive friendliness isn't normal in other countries?

Antony Bliken. His name sounds different than it reads. Everytime I hear it my brain is like what?

Paglia definitely isn't mad here lmao.

"I'm the Susan Sontag of the 90s." No mate, you're the Camille Paglia of the 90s, and soon the 90s will be over.

94 degrees, but "feels like" 100.

Can it be November yet? I'll settle for September.

Might have to start living like a vampire again.

There ought to be a federal law that states that end users can decline all software updates. I get so sick of never being able to actually use software because it's perpetually updating. Video games are particularly evil at this.

I work in safety.. and have been pushing for requirements for this for years.

Manufacturers have put up a big front on this, saying they know best.

I’m very torn. Users should be informed, but if there is a safety risk with the old software, am sorta on board with the update occurring without the user’s approval.

Actually, I have a lot of trouble with all of this on both sides, and it is what occasionally makes me want to throw it all away and live in the woods.
