The literal dream!

Still kinda regret selling the (non-Balls) tweed Deluxe clone I had to Dink after I moved to Chicago.

I'm reading the amp description again and I'm trying to understand the line out function now that it's use case is described - you're getting a line level signal you can just re-amp through any full amp or are you going into the power amp section of the twin?

The former. It comes off the speaker connection, though, so it must be used in conjunction with the internal speaker, not in place of it.

It's should be noted that it comes out sounding like what's going to the speaker of the amp, so running it through another preamp is gonna add some gain and sound different. Running it into a clean solid state amp will be more true to form though.

That really sounds cool. I was able to get around the 15 watts with a tweed Gibson Falcon w/ a Skip Simmons mod - which is supposed to be a tweed deluxe w/ reverb - by plugging into a big ass Mesa 4x12 w/ the half open back, but just plugging it into whatever head and cab was around would have been way more portable.

You don’t have quite the range with the amp’s volume knob because of all the compression and goo that you want from tweeds, but I wouldn’t have wanted to do anything to change the sound. It really works for all sorts of stuff outside of the stereotypical Neil Young sound where its collapsing in on itself.

Now that I think about it, I think there is a line out on my amp, but I never used it. not sure if its speaker driven though.

Yeah, I was kinda sitting here thinking about low wattage amps going into something clean high powered and how that would sound. Same sort of idea of a slave amp, but more versatile it seems. Like Neil's deluxe but at Orange volumes.

It's not an entirely new thing to build a double Tweed Deluxe. 2x12, 4x6V6....it's more like 30 watts but still a decent tick louder with the extra speaker.

Yeah - I don't see this as being a "regular" thing that I do, but it's nice to play around with (especially running it into the trem of the Twin!)

J. Rockett Squeegee Compressor. For whatever reason compressors always seem to vex me. Last one I had was the TCE Hypergravity Mini and had a lot of flexibility due to Toneprint, but I could never find something that satisfied me fully. The Squeegee is dead simple. Just two knobs for level and compression. The action feels very quick to squash the notes and makes my lead playing sound more consistent and pleasing, especially on trills and fast runs. Really like it so far and it’ll be an always-on pedal for me.
