That Colt was fucking LOUD.
The rounds he was using were only packed 1/3 (or did he say 2/3?) full, and they still sparked and smoked a hell of a lot.

The Colt 1911 is a honking piece of hardware. Big, heavy and loud, yes.
Throws a big piece of metal pretty hard, too.
Pretty fun to make tin cans blow up with one. Yep.

I thought that too, at my last job. Then I was mysteriously fired at the end of week three.

Seriously, though- the reason that I put that in quotes is it's one of the original ad copy taglines from the 1800s. I am guessing that you either missed the reference, or you may be giving us yanks on the board a run for the crown in the "irony-impaired" sweepstakes.
