Re: What are you buying, What's on its way?
1172First instinct is that it is stolen
but maybe more likely is that this was something pulled out of an institutional "upgrade" or something. I think we've all heard stories about such-and-such college or church doing a remodel or whatever and someone shrugging their shoulders on it - happens more I think at universities that don't have a legit surplus department that manages these things.
Hope this works out for you, if so, deal of a lifetime!

1173The pics still have tags on them and the IEC cables are factory packaged still. I looked up the shop. It's in Indiana and apparently has a deal with Sweetwater where they sell scratch and dent, Demo, and returned stuff from them. My guess is it is a demo or something and the guys listing it screwed up the listing or something. I really have zero idea if its legit, but the shop seems to be a real place at least, and the seller has mostly good reviews. As far as institutional upgrades... totally possible. I work at Nike and we "upgrade" shit all the time and the old stuff that goes away just goes into a warehouse where it continues to be a depreciating asset for eternity. Insane what shit goes in there. We are taking 20 Allen Heath I Live mixers and racks to "the dump" at the end of the year when we get out D Lives to replace them.Garth wrote: Tue Apr 09, 2024 10:01 am First instinct is that it is stolen

Re: What are you buying, What's on its way?
1174That sounds so cool! At least it’s an actual shop. I had a whole ordeal with an eBay offer for a compressor from a 0 feedback seller once. I thought I could easily get my money back via paypal if it was a scam and that turned out not to be the case. I did after about 6 weeks, though.
It’s a long story but basically if they give you tracking to your address that says it was delivered but it never showed up, pm me.

1175AH yeah I think I have seen low-priced listings from this place before and figured there was some tie-in w/ Sweetwater which is just down the road on US30. Columbia City, right? Helluva score man.Kniferide wrote: Tue Apr 09, 2024 10:41 am The pics still have tags on them and the IEC cables are factory packaged still. I looked up the shop. 1176Yeah man, it is an insane price if they aren't broken. A friend bought a Heritage Summing mixer from them about a year ago and 8 of the channels weren't working but he said it was just a ribbon connector that needed to me seated. We shall see. They shipped yesterday. They are honestly way to big for my space but at this price they are going to be hard to part with. Worst case I can flip them, give someone else a great deal and still get a pair of great monitors out if it. Now I just need to get off my ass and actually record some shit.Garth wrote: Wed Apr 10, 2024 11:42 amAH yeah I think I have seen low-priced listings from this place before and figured there was some tie-in w/ Sweetwater which is just down the road on US30. Re: What are you buying, What's on its way?
1177I managed to get a Laney Pro-tube AOR 30W that was chopped into a head for cheap a few weeks ago. I was halfway into figuring out speakers etc. when I got a message yesterday saying someone has a 50W combo, which I didn't even know existed. Welp. Looks like I'm going to be comparing them now.
Re: What are you buying, What's on its way?
1178I liked the 30w better than the 50. I currently have a 100 head to be silly, but I still think about the 30andyman wrote: Thu Apr 11, 2024 3:26 am I managed to get a Laney Pro-tube AOR 30W that was chopped into a head for cheap a few weeks ago. 1179If you know someone in Austin, you could get back to that 30-watt gold

(interestingly the 30w is 6L6s vs EL34s in the 50/100w)
Edit: that should have said 6V6s
