“Peking Spring” by Mission Of Burma

Possibly my favorite Burma song.

Ten years ago, my band did a string of dates with Burma. The Burma guys were late due to a delayed flight, except for Bob, who flew separately. He set Burma’s stuff up and had me play the role of Clint for soundcheck. I played “Peking Spring”. At the final show, I asked the Burms if they’d play “Peking Spring”. They played it, and Clint pointed to me in the audience and mouthed “That was for you.” One of the coolest moments of my life. The fact that he was playing it through my amp made it even cooler.

I’ve been on a big Billy Woods tear, and whaddaya know…he made an album with Moor Mother. Not sure how I missed this on when it came out a couple of years ago.
It's so good.

Richard Dawson and Circle - Henki

Took me a while to get around to this but it has really surprised me and exceeded expectations -- which were quite low despite being a fan of both. It's kind of fucking awesome. Great to hear Dawson the solo artist in such a great pre established band and it jelling perfectly.

So many great melodies.
