Here are a couple more:

Crucifucks - Our Will Be Done - fantastic punk compilation of all the original material from this '80's Michigan hardcore band; dig the lead singer's nasal shrill...

Red Krayola - God Bless The Red Krayola And All Who Sail With It - brilliant; if this 1968 album wasn't an influence on indie rock then I'm a monkey's uncle

Pere Ubu - New Picnic Time - I really love this album, and no one ever mentions it; there are two experimental fuckaround patches on it but the rest's fantastic

Cows - Daddy Has A Tail! - No one I know has ever heard of this band; a pity, I burned my next-door neighbor a copy of this...I think he likes it

Swans - Cop/Young God/Greed/Holy Money - No one I know likes this band.

I also like Cows and Swans, even though I've only listened to a couple albums from each. I had a friend who was a huge Swans fan, and we went to see them on their last tour. I'm glad I got to--they were incredible live.

1. US Saucer / Tender Places Come from Nothing
2. Souled American / Frozen

I was going to add a U.S. Saucer record to this thread, but it was going to be their first record (My Company Is Misery).

All of Souled American's records are masterpieces.

Alastair Galbraith has put out a lot of great records, but Morse is my favorite. It is better than Syd Barrett. I love Syd, and Alastair Galbraith definitely loves Syd, but Morse is better.

AC Temple's Belinda Backwards is a record that I have spent years promoting on a strictly amateur basis. This record is truly a lost masterpiece.

As already mentioned by another, Adorable's Fake.

Jane from Occupied Europe's Coloursound.

Gilded Eternity by Loop.

Holy fuck. These guys are my 'classic rock'.

Did anyone ever like Drunk Tank? Early Hammerhead? AmRep?

LOVE that record. Chow might be my favorite song of theirs. Don't forget the one before that, Taint pluribus Taint unum...sounds extremely similar and is every bit as good.

Someday soon, I want to go up onstage with a group and do four covers, either on guitar or vocals: Chow, Your Property, Dead Joe, and Shed No Tears. Without introductions or anything but small pauses between songs. At max volume/intensity/rocking/everything. (All the songs' main riffs are relatively simple on guitar, with the exception of Dead Joe...but hell, most of that is one chord.) Then leave the stage without saying anything. People at my college wouldn't know what hit 'em. It would be such a release.

Hey, I don't feel confident enough and can't play guitar well enough to write my own songs yet, so a couple of covers would be nice. My dreams at this stage are pretty small.

Best Cows record. An old band of mine played a number of shows w/ them
between 1989-1991. Shannon broke both his arms at our drummers place
when he fell through the roof. They were having an affair. Then for the rest
of the tour Shannon had a person hold up his horns with sticks. Like, he'd
do a trumpet part and the horn would come out of the crowd, taped to sticks
(duct tape). He had two casts that held his arms out like a bird ready for flight.
Hard to follow that. :) My Dad's A Fucking Alcoholic was in the set at
that time. Probably one of my favorite live bands.
