TS-50 Pre-DI-Pedal

Seriously, has anybody even seen a TS-50B for sale ANYWHERE lately? It would appear everyone has caught on to these. I'll never forgive myself for the time I saw one at a music store in (I believe) Rhode Island while on tour, and didn't pick it up. It was $50. This was probably four years ago.

Owens, if you are still on here, do you remember what that store was called and where it actually was? I'm talking about the place where you bought your Gibson 8x12 cab.

With that all being said, I'm hoping this pedal will be the next best thing....maybe even better. Eager to try it with a guitar as well, just for kicks.

well, it's not like you have to have the TS-50B to get the TS-series sound. They use similar "tube-simulation" circuits in other models, too.

with that in mind, you could've bought a TS-50 on eBay about a week ago. Sold for less than $150.

The TS-100 sold for damn cheap, too, because it was just the chassis and whatnot. Which, really, would probably be preferable for most folks who just want the sound of the preamp.

They're still easy enough to find, and relatively cheap, if you don't limit yourself to just the 50B. The people interested in them, that's a really small subset of musicians at large. Who knows, maybe something ridiculous like 75% of the people looking for TS-50B's are on this forum. ;)

Played with a different band for a bit, finally - one that's more Power Pop, unlike our main band, which is 60's Garage/Girl Group inspired.

The Rusty Box delivered! Man did it sound awesome. I dialed in a little gain, and it made my bass sound so muf'kin fine. I didn't even push it that mushc, just enough drive to cut through the choppy guitars. Brilliant.

So, on guitar - hells yes.
On bass - Oh hells mais oui!

Save your pennies, people, this is a fine piece of gear.
