So, like simmo's friend I downloaded it from their site for $0, and from the first three songs this is about the laziest album put out by them to date. And yeah, 160 kbps? It had better be free.

Seems to me that they're banking on the die-hard fans paying a LOT of money for a box set after already having the music, instead of charging everyone a LITTLE for a cd when it'll just get ripped/traded/etc. anyway.

i got it home last night and listened on my stereo. i think it's a very good album. there're a lot of sounds i heard at home that i couldn't hear on my computer. the record is indeed going to sound phenomenal.

What I think is lame is they didn't set up their server to handle anything but the rosiest of scenarios. I still can't fucking download this thing. Seeing as how they are trying to revolutionize music distribution with technology, you'd think they'd actually build their commerce site on a server that could sell the album. What an oversight this has been...

UPDATE: I finally downloaded the album. What a horrible experience they made this. Between the server not being able to handle the load and a pretty horrible user experience, I'm pretty disappointed. There's so much potential with the results of this experiment, I'd hate to see it fail because of these oversights.

1. you didn't have to pay anything for this very good music.
2. you didn't have to leave your house. you could have have your porn window open, your dick in your hand, and still been able to get this music.

what's to complain about? was it really a "horrible" experience? truly? besides. someone posted sendspace and badongo links to the album in this very thread.

They sent me an email saying it was ready for download. I clicked on the link and five minutes later the album was on my computer. Seemed pretty effortless to me.

i'm pretty harsh on user interfaces. that's what i do for a living.

in the end, i got the album. but if they're going to make it difficult to download, users may find another place to download it. which is a money loss if you think about it.

that's the real issue here: how does a band make money off their music?

I really don't like this album. It bores me and there's nothing compelling or even especially interesting about it.

With that being said, I cannot fucking believe there are complaints (from this forum, no less) about the bitrates and servers used to deliver this album for free to hundreds of thousands of people by this massively popular band.
