Ha! I used to combine this stuff when Royal Crown when I had a pompadour. A friend who also had a pompadour used to stick Murray's in boiling water to moisten it up.

I eventually became a mountain-fucker and grew a beard, but I occasionally put some Murray's on my finger, stick it under some hot water, and use it to pad down stray beard hairs.
