No, Mr. Godwin, you can accuse Macca of certain Crimes Against Music, but nobody, to my knowledge, died, and everyone has been free to not listen.

well, I've done my
research, and I don't like what I'm reading.

Hitler has been invoked.

Hence my
Godwin reference above.

did anyone watch lauren laverne interview him on the culture show a few weeks back? i surprised myself by becoming jealous of her. they were on some nice wooden deck overlooking a field having a brilliant chat about his youth and the early beatles years and then he played a couple of songs there and then and even got her clapping and making up verses. she had this grin on her face the whole way through that said 'if i die tomorrow, this will have been worth it"
it was a good interview, he's okay i s'pose...

Macca was awesome in the Beatles and Maybe I'm Amazed is an awesome song.
Not Crap. But Band on the Run is still the lowest common denominator of popular music.

Allow me to dispute:
Plastic Ono Band and
Imagine are fucking incredible, revealing, gut-punching pieces of work from start to finish (with the exception of the song "Power To The People" on
Plastic Ono Band...[it doesn't fit with the rest of the album
at all]). That's
two fucking phenomenal albums. Most bands/artists can't even make
one...and these are in addition to John's culture-shaking Beatles contributions.
I enjoy these albums as much as any Beatles album...and in some cases, I definitely enjoy the first two Lennon solo albums
more.

The only thing more surprising to me than this question being asked is that the answers seem evenly split.
As far as I'm concerned all the Beatles get a lifetime NC pass regardless of what they did later. And I include George Martin as a Beatle.
