A nice glass of Rioja with your tagliatelli is one of life's great pleasures. That doesn't count as "drinking". "Drinking" implies consuming an alcohol beverage for the intoxicating effect only. Clearly this is not the point of the consumption of alcohol for everyone.

In my case, sometimes on the weekend I go out and get a bit drunk, nothing that I'd get a hangover from, or make an ass of myself over. But I try and drink wine with every main meal I eat because food and wine enhance each other. This has nothing to do with the booze in the wine, it's called being civilised.

And that's what I think I needed to get to. I was 'drinking' every night, now I'm just enjoying a glass of wine or a nice beer with dinner and it feels right. Over the holidays I did have more than my desired quota a few nights, but the fact that I'm not having more than 2 drinks every night is good.

That's exactly what "hardly any" or "no noticeable" or "negligible" means.

No. "Hardly any" means some, but almost none. "No noticeable" means maybe none, or maybe some that isn't noticeable. "Negligible" means some, but not enough to pay attention to. "Without any" means none.

I can tell you that your body is far hardier than advertisments for household cleaning products will lead you to believe. The liver is there for a reason. Plenty of the everyday things you eat, including fruits and vegetables contain "poison". Our bodies are a lot smarter than us and are more than happy to scrub out the bad shit and keep in the good stuff, within certain parameters.

I believe all of this! What I don't believe is that your body can do all of this without suffering some wear and tear. I might be wrong. If you tell me that you have some sort of medical education or the like that tells you this, I might believe you. But just based on your assertion, I do not believe you. I also do not expect you to believe me, just based on my assertion.

My only beef with your points, isn't you choice, but that you think that it is impossible for the body to process certain toxins without damage. I know how passionate Straight-Edge people are in their beliefs - I was one-, but sometimes that can cloud judgment a little, kind of like alcohol [wine-with-food winky face]

I don't believe my judgment is clouded by passionate Straight-Edge beliefs. I don't really consider myself straight-edge, really. I'm not a vegan, not 100% strict in my vegetarianism, not 100% strict in my non-drinking, and didn't exactly conform to sxe standards during my premarital sex life. I simply believe that, yes, your body has parts that are made to filter and neutralize the various toxins it takes in, including alcohol, but no, it can not do that without taking damage. Maybe I am wrong, but I think I am right. If I am right, then there is evidence backing me up, but right now I don't have the time or inclination to look it up. If you are right, and you present some evidence, I do have the time and inclination to take a look at it! I'm always happy to find out I'm wrong about something!

Whatever, LVP.

everybody,

there was this one time I hung out with Linus @ Mac's Bar in Lansing and I was drinking and I offered to buy him a beer and he knocked my booze on the ground and kicked me in the jimmy. He and his wife then proceeded to urinate on my shoes, which was especially weird because linus squatted, too.

When he met up with DA and Tom and the Flesh for breakfast the next morning, I was so scared, that I was shaking. Luckily, vodka cures all of that at 10:00 am, but then he broke my glass on the counter at the diner and stabbed me in the ass and poured syrup all over me and salt.

Faiz-

Because of your story, I am now imagining that xLinusx's avatar is a picture of him sitting on you while you wriggle below his ass screaming for help.

Is niiiiice.
