Maybe? 😬
It's all covered in DFTR's video. And yeah Dave Barbe was in Sugar in addition to being a recording engineer.
Ah thanks! Might you have a link or the name of said vid? EDIT - I SCROLLED UP

seby wrote: There was a sad but interesting story on a thread called something like "How a label A&R guy ruined our record". Label guy insisted on some crazy stereoisation effect during mixing that a bunch of people warned him would cause phase alignment issues. Low and behold the record gets done and the label's mastering person tells A&R guy same thing. A&R guy asks for it to be remixed and mixing engineer tells him to fuck off.

I could have some of the details wrong but that was the gist of it. I would love to read it again if anyone has a link to the blog? If memory serves the story was hosted externally

Hey, just in time for Halloweeen, guess which classic thread came out practically unscathed from that backup mishap?
That's right it's MTAR's haunted A-frame.

(It's interesting reading forum threads that are frozen in time. I am definitely in "yelling ineffectually at the characters onscreen mode" as I see no one following up on getting him to set up a video camera. Not passing judgment though—I know 10+ years ago we weren't yet living in convenient Ring camera panopticon hell.)

I also introduced a couple of US based FM's to Bundaberg Rum.

At some point I listed and rated the unique incidents of each time I was knocked unconscious, then rated them on a scale of one to five stars, along with nuances like "weird smell", "ringing in ears," and "time dilation."

I wish I'd saved that. It was one of the first times I wrote something and thought "I think this is funny."
