I love that Ipecac Records put out the last Jesus Lizard record and that Patton and Denison played together in Tomahawk. I hope the mighty Lizard has not lost any cool points in the thread for being associated with such an obvious clown show.
You must have missed the reactions when the last album was coming out.
lol got his ass

Faith No More are one of the greatest bands to ever exist.
Angel Dust is my favorite album of all time. A masterpiece.
Sol Invictus, from 2015, is low-key amazing. I listen to it more often than some of their original run.
The fact that they are so polarizing only endears them to me more. Hate them all you want. They're the best. Fuck you.
This thread AND Six Finger Satellite is beating Brainiac in a Thunderdome. I'm taking this shit personally on your behalf

The only Mr Bungle I like. They seemed less pretentious on the first record. I dislike all the funk/ska shit on that debut, but it has some bangers too. The video for "Quote/unquite is cool.

Hopefully I posted this before, but I'm gonna post again anyway: Sol Invictus is amazing and their last and best album (from 2015). Their first album isn't that good, but also doesn't have Mike Patton. Mike Patton is a musical genius, and I don't even like Mr. Bungle.
every time i read that Mike Patton (or name any other theater kid doofus who has done nothing but make obnoxious unlistenable crap) is a genius I think of this scene from That Thing you Do:
In Jimmy’s defense, at least he wrote That Thing You Do, which is much better than any Faith No More crap (although, it would never have been a hit without Shades pickin up the tempo)

Genius is a word probably reserved for a small number of individuals. Is Patton one of them? Dunno. Some of his stuff (solo stuff mostly) can be unsufferable. But a lot of "undisputed genius" have released boring tuff too.
I love his work with FNM and a few other stuff here and there. And he can be an awesome frontman methinks. Great job also with Ipecac. A lot of pros.

Patton is not a genius IMO, but he is a hard worker and I’d say is a positive influence on “music”. He’s promoted a bunch of artists, run a record label that releases a lot of great music. I’m surprised Fantomas hasn’t been mentioned.
As I’ve said before, I can enjoy an artist at their best and this seems to have turned into a poll on Patton. He’s produced some stuff I’ve loved and some stuff I don’t care about or like even. But if you’re going to post the worst of a guy with a near 40 year career that been as prolific as Patton you might as well say someone like Jonny Cash is crap, because he produced some absolute garbage. But is Cash crap? Hell no.
