Woke up to the sound of pouring rain,
The wind would whisper and I'd think of you.
And all the tears you cried, that called my name.
And when you needed me I came through.

I paint a picture of the days gone by,
When love went blind and you would make me see.
I'd stare a lifetime into your eyes.
So that I knew that you were there for me,
Time after time, you were there for me.

Remember yesterday, walking hand in hand.
Love letters in the sand, I remember you.
Through the sleepless nights, through every endless day,
I'd wanna hear you say, I remember you.

We spent the summer with the top rolled down,
Wished ever after would be like this.
You said "I love you babe," without a sound.
I said I'd give my life for just one kiss.
I'd live for your smile, and die for your kiss.

Remember yesterday, walking hand in hand.
Love letters in the sand, I remember you.
Through the sleepless nights, through every endless day.
I'd wanna hear you say, I remember you.

We've had our share of hard times,
But that's the price we paid.
And through it all, we kept the promise that we made.
I swear you'll never be lonely.

Woke up to the sound of pouring rain,
Washed away a dream of you.
But nothing else could ever take you away,
'Cause you'll always be my dream come true,
Oh my darling, I love you!

Remember yesterday, walking hand in hand.
Love letters in the sand, I remember you.
Through the sleepless nights, through every endless day.
I'd wanna hear you say, I remember you.

Remember yesterday, walking hand in hand.
Love letters in the sand, I remember you.
Through all the sleepless nights, through all every endless days.
I'd wanna hear you say,
I remember
I remember you
ohhh uhhh yeah!

Oh man. Memories flood back. Bad memories.

Is there any other kind with that band?

Are they still together in some form?

I hope not. I'm surprised people actually know of them. They were billed as some sort of new twist of LA metal I think(I worked for a corporate record store at the time, Musicland) in the late 80s. They're no Kix though.

That's cool. Just keep your balls to the wall and keep on heading down to uncle Tom's cabin.

Sadly, I can admit to knowing the drummer for Pretty Boy Floyd. He married a friend of mine.
Lame.

I think Coldplay have a decent amount of self-awareness, and I don't take anything they've ever said in an interview as gospel simply because there's a good chance they were making a joke and it just didn't come across very well on paper. (See Nina's post - "Luckily, with this new record we're going to make, we have that one song" is a very self-deprecating thing to say and kind of obviously a joke, I feel.)

Also, the album art for their new record is absolutely phenomenal:

All that said, not a very good band from a musical standpoint. A couple of good singles (everyone forgets their best, "God Put A Smile On Your Face" which is actually quite bleak and stark), but the rest of it is mediocre at best. Better luck next record, Coldplay.
