Hostel: Part II

Acquaintances who think that their own lives are going well and who are looking around at other peoples lives, offering smug advice, making holiday suggestions and other such unwarranted interference.

1. the notice taped to my door at about 5:00 AM letting me know that my rent has gone from 760.00 to 995.00

2. the roomate who screams about screwing around with our networked internet connection...while forgetting to note that he has contributed no money to that - indeed to any - bills in the year he has lived here

3. the boss who insists that I stop the important business of organizing an overwhelming and rapidly disintegrating pile of rental equipment so that I can scramble around to plug gear in he doesn't fully understand for three hours straight, in front of a client. The business is becoming hash.

In conclusion, money and what it does to myself and others. Can't we just roll back/forward to a straight, individually based barter system? Why not?

I have to say, this Scooter Libby thing has wound me up no end, too.

Independent record shops closing left, right and centre (and I'm not talking about Fopp) and my complicity in their downfall.

My cat, who keeps biting my girlfriend.

The grand prize however goes to arrogant fuckwit bands from Brighton who take two hours to soundcheck and are generally unpleasant and then play exceptionally shit music and take more than their share of the door money.

Yeah. Many people seem to be saying how surprised they are at their anger - as if there might have been any other outcome. I feel like that too.

It's like our noses have already been rubbed in shit but now we have to snort it as well.
