Yes, I do in fact remember the 21st night of September.
[Edit: Forgot to add "night" here ^^^.]

Stumbled upon some "smoking bans are safetyism gone mad" rant and it reminded me of how glad I am that indoor smoking is banned everywhere. Even when I was a smoker I didn't like other people's smoke.

I smoke and I like the indoor smoking ban, except I would be OK with smoking sections at bars, which exist if there is a patio, usually. I also never smoke in my house or car.
I do however get sick of people telling me it's bad for me and I should quit. No shit.

Columbo never cracked a case after the smoking ban. Good old Columbo, he'd smoke in a maternity ward if the case took him there; use a baby's fontanelle as an ashtray.

Cigars, totally different thing. Apples to oranges, really.
Nice visual though.

Speaking of, I never understood the appeal of cigars. I tried them once or twice and it was fun and felt really badass, like smoking a pipe is fun and badass, but did I enjoy it? Not really. The length of a cigarette is the length of time I'd actually want to puff on something.

One of my accounts I sell wine to is also one of the best cigar humidors in Los Angeles. I asked the cigar buyer to sell me my first cigar and he gave me three from his personal stash because I bring them all pizza now and then. I have not smoked any yet but look forward to doing it. Something tells me I'll need a couple/three other things in accompaniment to enjoy it: a hard day, the darkness and relative quiet of night, and a nice small pour of rum or brandy.

The "No Parking" sign on the Exorcist Poster really bugs me. It looks like Max Von Sydow is trying to figure out why they towed his Volvo.
I guess they built a false front to the house, added smoke machines, and all sorts of lighting obviously, but they decided to make this ugly thing the central feature of one of the most recognizable images from cinema.

Doesn't sound good.
I think he was in or headed to Spain, last time he posted?
Hope he's okay.
