I am not a stray guy, but as a lefty, I'd have the opportunity to do something really funny with this.

My first thought was that this said "I am not a straight guy" which made the rest of the post rather curious for a moment

As ridiculously overpowered as it is, if there is a better-sounding bass amp, i have yet to hear it.

They’re going for $1000 in San Diego often because people don’t want to deal with it anymore but I also think those people don’t want to ROCK

Yeah this isn't to disparage any other amps. Pretty much any time I've played bass in the past 10 years was w/ an 800rb and I was never unhappy with it...but when I started rehearsing w/ JSP @ burnyfurny there's an SVT set up and I was immediately like
"oh"
If I am ever gigging again, this is advance warning to any potential band mates that dragging the SVT back out again is a non-negotiable. Meanwhile in another thread I'm also complaining as a sound guy about bass amps being too loud. Paradox skirting the line of hypocrisy innit what can ya do

I saw a similarly priced late-70s SVT somewhere around Houston. I think they are beautiful and sound great.
I mean I own a V2 and would never sell it - at what point are SVTs not possible or economical to repair? Then consider how long a similarly priced new amp at GC might last.
The YBA3 I bought last year was supposed to be my last ever bass amp, but if I were in the market for one i can’t imagine $1500 going further as long as its not a total dog.

SVT IIs (the non-pro version) can regularly be had for $1k and they're essentially the same circuit as the mid 70s SVTs, but in a rackmount format with a (bypassable) graphic EQ added.
