Tie. Fresno and Bakersfield, CA. I have been to 49 states and several third-world countries, and Fresno on a late Saturday evening was the only time in my life I've been afraid to get out of my car. I needed gas, but something about the two gang members knife-fighting on the corner made me hesitant.


Aside from those, I nominate Las Vegas, followed by Las Vegas and Las Vegas. It has all the heat and sprawl of Phoenix but with the added bonus of every fat-assed suburban idiot on Earth stumbling around drunk amid the prefabricated "culture" and charm.

Well there's a distinction to be made between "sucks" and...well, worst on Earth. Dallas is boring, expensive, hot, and ugly. But for someplace to truly be the worst city it needs a healthy dose of pollution and the pervasive threat of violence being done to your person.

I second this. Fort Wayne reminds me of Joliet, IL without the poverty and crime. It doesn't look like it has seen any new construction since 1956, but it's clean and you can get a massive WWII-era home for dirt cheap prices.

The people are very friendly as well. Every time we play there we get paid, fed, and housed like kings. You could do worse than living there.

North London is ok. I lived there for 3 years. Still full of wankers though.

South London is shit. Anytime I had the misfortune of going south of the river you are truly entering another world. It seems the polar opposite of North London. And it's interesting that South Londoners are always moaning about North London. Also, it's a nightmare because the tubes don't run to most places. You have to get a bus with all the freaks. I've never been so freaked out as I have in Peckham. Some lovely houses and pubs but the gangstas on the street will kill you and they do regularly.

But in hindsight, sat here now in lovely, Sunny Melbourne there is not a lot of things about the WHOLE of London that I can look back on with fondness.
Most Aussie young people want to move there. God knows why they would want to move from this great place to that miserable shithole full of arrogant, nasty pricks is beyond me.

i now have an appreciation for Camden. It has to be the worst city in New Jersey, and that's saying something. I know people who live in Trenton, send their kids to school in Trenton, and they won't even set foot in Camden.

I lived in North London for 3 years and actually beleived that stuff. And after 2 years in South London, without being killed, mugged or even hassled by "gansters" I wonder why i didn't move sooner. Polar opposite? Fuck off... nicer, cleaner, friendlier and a lot less dickheads. And plenty of tubes and buses and better cycle routes.

Melbourne is nice though.

London is a city. It is either the worst city in the world or it is not. North London has good things and bad things, as has south London. Is London the worst city in the world? No; or, perhaps, yes. North London and south London are not cities.

Spokane, WA.

A huge fucking sprawling wasteland. And for a fairly large midsized city, it have very, very little cultural or arts scenes. The downtown is gentrified and almost completely empty after 8:00 PM on a SATURDAY!

Sorry Spokane, you suck and I never want to be near you again.
