If you're a fan of the Cardiacs then you should definitely check out The Monsoon Bassoon's record 'I Dig Your Voodoo'. Kavus (TMB guitarist/singer) is/was (I dunno, can't keep up) playing guitar with Cardiacs.

a lot of my friends listen almost exclusivly to NME-type bands and 80's synth pop so i get shit for almost everything involginb heavier distortion on guitar. they sey it sounds grungey. i respond that
1) it does not
2)even the grunge bands were from 10 to 56 times better than shit you people like.

i get a lot of shit for liking some of slayer, early metallica, lots of ministry, almost all of helmet and motorhead - you know, "metal".
i also get shit for liking classic jazz.
writing this down makes me realises i'm surrounded by morons.
i'm regulary arguinng over pearl jam. they're a good band, goddamnit.

well they went shit on record in 2003 and i went to shit live in 2003 also. however in 2006 they only went to shit on record as live they are really back on it and sounding great. riot act and the self titled new one are both absolutly terrible records though.
