No, I have heard of Beat Happening, but I've never heard their music. I teach English for a living, so spare me the needless pedantry. It's pefectly acceptable to refer to a single entity as "they" or "them" when it's understood that said entity is made up of multiple parts/members.

I decided I wanted to listen to them again the other night thinking I might have missed something. Turns out they're even worse than I remember. I must get rid of their records so it doesn't happen again.

Overall, not crap. But I can see why a crap vote is present.

Screaming Life/Fopp - Not Crap.
Badmotorfinger - Not Crap, for the most part.
Superunknown - Ah, crap. Some good songs.
Down on the Upside - same as above.
