I'm listening to that last.fm stuff too. Right now it decided I wanted to hear Pere Ubu's "Turquoise Fins."

...

And now it's Lou Reed's "Berlin." I've heard better from Lou Reed.

Pandora works in a similar way - enter one band and it creates a station around it. Enter 'Sonic Youth' and it plays songs similar to "Hard Rock roots, repetitive melodic phrasing, mixed acoustic and electric instrumentation, mixed major/minor-key tonality, a dynamic male vocalist, a breathy female vocalist, etc."

EDIT: Oops. Not only does Linus already know about Pandora, he made up a game from it.

there's a go! team song on mike watt's myspace page, and i've listened to it at least three times. it's pretty catchy. makes me call into question how many bands i've ignored in the past coupla years that i might actually enjoy.

anyone like this band, or think they suck.
