He puts on his seatbelt. Literally, that's it. He puts on his seatbelt and shoots the driver. Kind of flimsy but whatever.

connor wrote:2. Batman jumps out a window to save Rachel while the Joker's rummaging around his house. Then...cuts to next scene. Where'd the Joker go? Was he upstairs molesting Sen. Leahy?

Yeah I didn't get that either. I was thinking, "WHAT THE FUCK, YOU LEFT A ROOM FULL OF SOCIALITES ALONE WITH THE JOKER."

connor wrote:3. Everything with the hostages in clown masks and the doctors...wtf. I had no idea what was going on there. None. Zip. Why did the cops suddenly turn on Batman?

This scene was confusingly shot, I'll agree with that. The hostages in clown masks were dressed up to look like the Joker's goons, and they'd be shot by the cops. It is a Joke. The doctor part confused me a bit, it was like they just had some spare doctor outfits in the costume department and were like, "Hey, we gotta use these."

Bats assaulted some officers and they assumed he was trying to stop their hostage rescue.

connor wrote:4. Wayne sure got over the violent murder of his childhood girlfriend pretty quickly.

I guess? Doesn't most of the rest of the movie happen the next day? He has pretty big fish to fry.

connor wrote:5. Okay, did the Joker give Batman the wrong address or did he choose Dent (more interesting if he chose Dent, though I doubt that's what Nolan intended us to think).

The Joker gave Batman the wrong address. It is a Joke.

connor wrote:6. Did I see that white-haired cop (that Dent later kills in the bar) leading the Jokers troops up to Wayne's penthouse? So...he works for the joker? The mob?

Both, I think? He starts out on the Mob payroll but it's him and Ramirez who kidnap Dawes and Dent.

connor wrote:7. Why not show us how the Joker got the drop on the cop in the interrogation room? Fuck, give us a shot of his hidden knife or SOMETHING.

Did you notice the giant piece of jagged glass sitting behind Joker's head during his conversation with that cop? Batman busted the two-way mirror.

connor wrote:I'd say a combined total of 10 extra minutes (maybe 5) could solve a lot of these problems.

Yeah, I agree. I hope there's a director's cut (i cannot believe i am hoping for a director's cut of a three-hour movie) where some transitional scenes actually explain what happens. From a logistical standpoint there are a bunch of issues but from a dramatic standpoint there are so many excellent performances that they deserve a really airtight film.

Gotham City doesn't have a Wacker Drive.(upper or lower) Chicago does. We don't know the street layout of the rest of that city. maybe that move makes perfect sense? I don't count on cops making ideal decisions in any scenario, fiction or non-.

seems to me that you're looking for something to dislike about this movie.

Everything I said on Batman is great reading, and if you can get around your own constipated head, you could enjoy it.[/quote]

Great reading. That is a good one, nutso. Not a word of "great reading" comes out of your constant, all-blinders-all-the-way, unidirectional version of reality. Not. One. Word.

I hope you get help one day, I honestly do.

ginandtacos.com wrote:Forgive me if this question has already been answered, but how in the name of holy hell did this film get a PG-13? Warner Brothers must have sucked a lot of cock to pull that off. Jesus.

The MPAA knows that if they were to give it an R, there'd be some pretty hardcore lobbying/force from Hollywood to knock it down to a PG-13. A PG-13 movie has the potential to make more money than an R-rated film.

I'll never forget a few years ago when Billy Elliot and Hannibal came out the same week, both R-rated.

Fuck you too. I contributed a completely honest review. ginandtacos said it was a phony, dishonest review. I *think* this argument is now finished.

Everything I said on Batman is great reading, and if you can get around your own constipated head, you could enjoy it.

Rick everyone hates you. Don't ruin other peoples threads.
