Allow me to dispute: Plastic Ono Band and Imagine are fucking incredible, revealing, gut-punching pieces of work from start to finish (with the exception of the song "Power To The People" on Plastic Ono Band...[it doesn't fit with the rest of the album at all]). That's two fucking phenomenal albums. Most bands/artists can't even make one...and these are in addition to John's culture-shaking Beatles contributions.

I enjoy these albums as much as any Beatles album...and in some cases, I definitely enjoy the first two Lennon solo albums more.

OK, right, and the Macca songs I listed above are fine as solo works too.

However, in aggregate, it's safe to assume that most people dig them some Beatles, on the whole, more than they dig the solo works. There is some serious rat feces in Lennon's grain silo (and McCartney's) and very little in the Beatles'.
They were worth more as a team than as individuals.
S'all I'm sayin'.

You think it does? Elaborate.

I think "Power To The People" wasn't on Plastic Ono Band
