I'm listening to SRC's first lp loud enough to bug the neighbors.

(Red) Bruford at his best. There are some cymbals in there that sound like a garbage can lid. I wish I could find some pictures of the setup for that record.

Bill found a broken, bent up cymbal in the trash at AIR studios.. They miked it up and put a splash of reverb on it to get the China cymbal from Hell sound.

The Red kit was the Ludwig/Hayman mix kit from the last tour.

SecondEdition: I totally agree w/you on Everybody Knows. So much better than Zuma (an album I've wanted to like much more than I genuinely do).

For further Neil exploration (since you ask), On The Beach has some similar tones to Everybody Knows (but few, if any, of the same players). Another Young favorite of mine. Also, the soundtrack to Journey Through the Past is a fascinating & intriguing listen. It trumps Godspeed at elements of their own game by a few decades, & has a GREAT, LP-side-long version of "Words" -- mind you, I'm no jam band fan, either. Rehearsal takes spliced into live stuff back into studio version -- it's a brilliant mess. Young's contention at the time (in defense of its abysmal performance with fans & critics) is that it was cobbled together by studio suits. If that's true, they were idiot savants. I hope it's not true, though. I hope it was really Neil after all.

American Stars & Bars is good too.

I am at the mercy of my co-workers' radio selection.

Currently listening to Physical by Olivia Newton John.

This is the catchiest song ever. Whenever I hear it I sing it incessantly for the next two weeks.

I pity my housemates/girlfriend/anyone who encounters me in the next fourteen days.

Olivia Newton John wrote:I'm saying all the things that I know you'll like, makin' good conversation
I gotta handle you just right, you know what I mean
I took you to an intimate restaurant, then to a suggestive movie
There's nothin' left to talk about, unless it's horizontally

CHORUS
Let's get physical, physical, I wanna get physical, let's get into physical
Let me hear your body talk, your body talk, let me hear your body talk

repeat CHORUS

I've been patient, I've been good, tried to keep my hands on the table
It's gettin' hard this holdin' back, you know what I mean
I'm sure you'll understand my point of view, we know each other mentally
You gotta know that you're bringin' out the animal in me

CHORUS repeats 2x

Oh, let's get physical, physical, I wanna get physical, let's get into physical
Let me hear your body talk, your body talk, let me hear your body talk

Let's get animal, animal, I wanna get animal, let's get into animal
Let me hear your body talk, your body talk, let me hear your body talk

Let me hear your body talk
Let me hear your body talk

Such a filthy song too!

He went to bed about a decade ago, or whenever he sold his soul to the bankers and the elites.
