The pickguard I had sent to SendCutSend came in today. Ended up having to sand the flange that goes between the pickup rings but afterwards it fit pretty nice. It did need some polishing—even after anodizing it was pretty roughly finished—so when I went to Ace Hardware on my break I grabbed the screws, some polishing compound and a detail sander. Drilled in the holes for the pickguard screws and finished it.

Now that it looks Cool As Fuck™️, just need to finish the Rest of the Fucking Owl!

I got a little Sphere preamp that popped up used on Reverb. I thought it was a better deal than it was and jumped on it, but in retrospect it was just fair. If I can fill a little 6-space lunchbox with 4 of these and the two eqs I already have I’ll be happy. My goal is for a little mobile 4-6 channel setup I can use anywhere, mostly so I can get out of my house and show up at somebody else’s who has a piano, a better room setup for drums, living room duos, etc.

If the pre works out I can start selling stuff and start working towards that. I’ve been reading about a lot of Quad Eight/ Electrodyne / Sphere stuff and they seem fun. Just a different character from everything else w/o getting too esoteric.

I was just talking with FM PEPPER! about how great that amp is. Fender cleans or some Plexi crunch, and a very useful master volume. Really well built too. I got one years ago off eBay and the seller just tossed it in a flimsy box. I looked out my front window and saw the mailman dragging the collapsed box with the amp on top of it, like a kid on a sled. Amp worked fine.

Yeah I got to play a little last night, and clean sounds really interesting, full, dynamic, loud and clear....then a fuzz makes that thing roar. Can't wait for my balls charity fuzz to put through there.

Had it going for like 5 mins before the rest of the house was like "OK dude. That's enough of that."
