Tom was such a great guy. This blows.

Devastating news. I met Tom once or twice at BBQs and he was a wonderful guy. So friendly and passionate about music and his excellent beer. He made a huge impression on me. He'll be hugely missed. Love to his many friends and to his family.

I just hopped on here because I found out the news tonight that Tom was gone, and I'd wondered whether anyone at the PRF knew him. I haven't seen him as much as I did when I was more active in the Twin Cities music scene, but I'd known Tom for probably at least 25 years and he was hands-down one of the kindest, most upbeat, friendliest people you could meet on this earth. Terrific bass player, incredible beer maker, and exactly the person you want in your corner. I can't believe he's gone. What a fucking loss.

R.I.P. Les Binks-the drummer who played with Judas Priest on Stained Class, Killing Machine (a/k/a Hell bent for leather) and Unleashed in the east. Their best drummer IMO, they became too rhythmically basic after that with Dave Holland and those albums are awesome...

Bummer. I also saw the original line-up earlier that year at the Shepherd's Bush Empire, and they were pretty incendiary.

Also heard a live set on BBC6 Music by the line-up that had Andy Gill as the only original member and it just sounded ... wrong. Tight, but wrong.

Could have sworn I read somewhere recently that Jon King was about to do some shows with yet another line-up, but my memory could be at fault there.

The one I remember most was Tic-Tac-Dough. I also remember Jokers Wild from that era, but that had a different host.

Wink also appeared in a late-80s Quiet Riot video.
